About this piece

This Space Shuttle pendant is made of meteorite and comes on an adjustable 18" or 22" sterling silver chain.

4.5-billion-year-old meteorite

Made of real 4.5-billion-year-old Muonionalusta meteorite. This meteorite crashed on Earth about 1 million years ago. Muonionalusta consists mostly of iron-nickel and while its molten metal was cooling down over millions of years formed a beautiful christiline structure known as Widmanstätten patterns[Wikipedia]. The meteorite used in this collection originates from a meteorite fragment that was found in Sweden.

Handmade with lifetime warranty

Meteorite is a tough material to work with, yet the combination and contrast with sterling silver is so beautiful. Each piece is proudly crafted by me, Daniel, in my studio in Ann Arbor. I stand behind my work, so I offer lifetime warranty on my pieces besides regular wear and tear.

It takes about 14 days to make your shuttle necklace. So it's important to order on time if you want them on a certain date.

      Care instructions

Silver: avoid exposure to strong chemicals such as household cleaners, sunscreen, and bug spray. Can be cleaned with soapy water if needed. Use polishing cloth (included) to remove tarnish and restore luster

Meteorite: keep dry, as its iron content can rust. If cleaning the silver, try to keep dry and make sure it is dry afterward. Periodically (every couple months) reapply Renaissance Wax (included) with a cotton swap or soft cloth and buff with a soft cloth. When not in use, store in an airtight bag. This will protect it from the elements. Do not use the included polishing cloth on meteorite. This is impregnated with a polishing compound that will polish your meteorite and make the pattern less visible. This pattern can always be restored by re-etching the piece. Please reach out if this is ever needed.
